Jessie Drew Hawkins
At 21, Jessie Drew Hawkins moved to Hong Kong as a young student studying Advertising at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD Hong Kong). Initially coming to study at the Hong Kong campus for just 1 semester, she found herself enchanted by the great city and all it had to offer. To be able to stay after her schooling, she jumped into a teaching position which soon led to a manager role within the small school. Though she enjoyed working with children and educators, she knew it was not her calling. She went back and forth between working in education and events many times in her career, working with her now business partner and the founder of Women of Hong Kong, Sarah, each time she left education. Finally, she reached out to Sarah one more time as Sarah was beginning to create the new platform for the community. She is very proud of her decision to take a chance to join Sarah once more.. She is now the chief operating officer and partnership director for Women of Hong Kong, which she considers the most important role of her life.
