Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Boufarhat created Hopin because he was quarantined at home with an autoimmune disorder and realized there were limited options available to network and connect from anywhere. Following that isolating experience, his mission quickly became to make the world feel smaller and more connected.

Since founding Hopin in 2019, it has become one of the fastest growing companies with Bourfarhat scaling the organization from six to more than 800 fully-remote employees across 47 countries and 100,000+ organizers hosting events worldwide including WeTransfer, YMCA, Poshmark, and many more. The company closed its $450 million Series D in August 2021, and has raised $1B+ to-date.
