Stephen Rasmussen is interim CEO of CGAP and most recently served as CGAP’s lead of the digital rails work pillar. Stephen has 30 years of development and financial inclusion experience. In 2014–2015, he established and was the first CEO of Karandaaz Pakistan, a start-up company focused on small business finance and digital financial inclusion. Prior to CGAP, Stephen held positions as the World Bank’s microfinance focal point for South Asia, and CEO of Pakistan Microfinance Network and Aga Khan Rural Support Programme.
