Few presidents have walked a more improbable path to the White House. Born in Hawaii to a mother from Kansas and a father from Kenya, Obama was raised with help from his grandparents, whose generosity of spirit reflected their Midwestern roots. The homespun values they instilled in him, paired with his innate sense of optimism, compelled Obama to devote his life to giving every child, regardless of his or her background, the same chance America gave him.
After working his way through college with the help of scholarships and student loans, Obama moved to Chicago, where he worked with a group of churches to help rebuild communities devastated by the closure of local steel plants. That experience honed his belief in the power of uniting ordinary people around a politics of purpose, in the hard work of citizenship, to bring about positive change. In law school, he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, then he returned to Illinois to teach constitutional law at the University of Chicago and begin a career in public service, winning seats in the Illinois State Senate and the United States Senate.
On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States, winning more votes than any candidate in history. He took office at a moment of crisis unlike any America had seen in decades – a nation at war, a planet in peril, the American Dream itself threatened by the worst economic calamity since the Great Depression. And yet, despite all manner of political obstruction, Obama’s leadership helped rescue the economy, revitalize the American auto industry, reform the health care system to cover another twenty million Americans, and put the country on a firm course to a clean energy future – all while overseeing the longest stretch of job creation in American history. On the world stage, Obama’s belief in America’s indispensable leadership and strong, principled diplomacy helped wind down the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, decimate al Qaeda and eliminate the world’s most wanted terrorists, shut down Iran’s nuclear weapons program, open up a new chapter with the people of Cuba, and unite humanity in coordinated action to combat a changing climate.
In times of great challenge and change, President Obama’s leadership ushered in a stronger economy, a more equal society, a nation more secure at home and more respected around the world. The Obama years were ones in which more people not only began to see themselves in the changing face of America, but to see America the way he always has – as the only place on Earth where so many of our stories could even be possible.
Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, are the proud parents of two daughters – Malia, 21, and Sasha, 18.

In Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s most populous market, Rachel Goh leads its largest telco player, Telkomsel, which has brought in over 170 million customers to date. Carrying out the role of Telkomsel’s CMO, Goh is an exceptionally seasoned marketer in the telco sector.
While she has been at the forefront of Telkomsel’s push toward personalization and digital transformation, shown by the achievement of MyTelkomsel mobile app with 32 million monthly active users, Goh is now aiming to set the provider apart by way of its 5G services and its foray into video streaming and mobile games.

Earlier this year, the brand announced a partnership with the national-level Dunia Games League, which routinely attracts millions of Indonesian gamers and streamers.
And of course, like most brands that managed to stay relevant during the pandemic, Telkomsel amplified its purpose by rallying the country’s spirit of community and resilience. Having worked in the most dynamic markets of Asia (India, Vietnam, China), my career has been a great mix of global network agency and startups. I specialize in brand communication strategy and have worked across full service agencies, digital agencies, media agencies and now in the OTT space. I believe that the next level of evolution of advertising spends will go into Branded content and that is what will differentiate brands in the category leading to a shift from GRP fights to a more evolved form of engagement with consumers . Setting up new businesses and revenue streams is my passion and I have been doing that for last 15 years in 5 different countries. In this digital era my fundamental belief is that ‘don’t try to do everything instead find strategic partnerships and a win-win collaboration to get your revenue rolling’.

To be able to stay after her schooling, she jumped into a teaching position which soon led to a manager role within the small school. Though she enjoyed working with children and educators, she knew it was not her calling. She went back and forth between working in education and events many times in her career, working with her now business partner and the founder of Women of Hong Kong, Sarah, each time she left education. Finally, she reached out to Sarah one more time as Sarah was beginning to create the new platform for the community. She is very proud of her decision to take a chance to join Sarah once more.. In 2016, Sarah Vee launched a successful digital marketing, PR and event agency, creating marketing strategies, event concepts, and cross-collaboration for brands like Michelin Guide Restaurants, Chili Fagara, and 4A agency Dentsu.
The idea for “Women of Hong Kong” was born in 2014, when Sarah created a network called "Girls of Hong Kong”, a tight-knit community that provided a safe space for women with networking and support through social events and common beliefs. By 2019, the “Girls of Hong Kong” grew to over 3000 members with over 200 active daily contributors on a social platform app.
